Attention 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students!
Cushing Academy Summer Session is sponsoring a national art contest, featuring a full boarding scholarship to the 2012 Studio Art Program. Founded in 1865, Cushing Academy offers an independent coeducational boarding program for students in grades 9-12, as well as a five-week Summer Session for boys and girls, ages 12-18. In addition to its strong academics, Cushing has intensive programs in the visual arts. Novice to advanced artists, ages 13-18, enjoy unique courses in silversmithing, stone-cutting and glass, as well as in traditional media. The Academy’s state-of-the-art Center for Visual Arts houses five large studios and a professional gallery.
Contest Rules: You may submit up to four pieces for consideration in the following media: photography, painting, drawing, illustration, pottery, jewelry design and computer-generated art. Only entries that meet the standards set by the judges will be awarded scholarships. Winning entrants will be notified by telephone after March 31, 2012.
