Boys' Lacrosse

The lacrosse program at Cushing is aware of which skills need to be developed in order for a particular athlete to be prepared for his next challenge. By participating in the Cushing varsity lacrosse program, a player will be ready to play at the collegiate level if that is desire of our athletes; however, whether they move on to the college level or simply want the opportunity to compete at high level during their high school career, our athletes learns skill that transcend the athletic arena. Our goal every day is to get better as players, have fun and grow as young men. Though we want to win every game, we do not allow that to dictate the success of our season.

Many of our players participate in varsity sports during the Winter Term; therefore, we do not officially start the season until the beginning of March. However, several players participate in tournaments, held at Indoor Action Sports Development Center in nearby Greenfield, during the fall. We then have a brief preseason before we take spring break off. This time is crucial for our players to recover before the season as many of them are multi-sport athletes. Our season is designed to be both competitive and rewarding for our players. We consistently play some of the best teams in New England. Last year Cushing was able to establish themselves as contenders for the title in our league and we hope to follow up on that success this coming spring.

Boys' Lacrosse Head
Coach:

William Thayer

"Our program offers kids the opportunity to go out every day and grow as both athletes and as part of a community. Some of our players go on to play at top division 1 colleges, but all take with them an understanding of how the game is meant to be played and above all what it means to be part of a team. The skills and lessons we teach go beyond the lacrosse field; we are a family here. We work hard and we play hard, together."
