When you arrive at Cushing Academy, you may already be thinking about the next step — college — and that’s good, because it’s never too early. Today, colleges are swamped with applications. With some careful planning, our College Counseling staff can help ensure that yours will stand out.

Beginning in your freshman year, your college counselor will help you make informed decisions about academics and activities. We start early because we want you to feel calm and confident about achieving your goals. We’ll walk you through every aspect of the college process, from evaluating schools, thinking about careers, and deciding which colleges might fit you best to submitting successful applications and choosing among those that accept you. Typically, all of our graduating seniors go on to college, and most have several to choose from.

We have years of experience placing students successfully in top-tier universities and colleges; even more important, we help students find colleges where they will be happy and where they can fulfill their ambitions.
