Over spring break, 10 Cushing students along with 2 parents and three faculty chaperones headed to Italy for a 10-day trip. After flying into Milan, the group traveled to Venice, Verona, Florence, Assisi, Pompeii, Sorrento, Rome, Pisa, and Pompeii.

On Friday, three students and an instructor from the Independent Karate School of Nashua, New Hampshire, provided an impressive display of discipline, artfulness, and combativeness to the entire Cushing community at assembly. Andrew Trexler '10, 2nd degree black belt, was joined by Kelly Ethier, also a 2nd degree black belt, Sean Sullivan, a 4th degree black belt, and Shihan Chris Marsh, instructor and 6th degree black belt. In addition to demonstrating a series of strict forms, the foursome also ran through a number of self-defense situations. Marsh broke a single board with two fingers and Sullivan wowed the crowd by breaking two sets of laminated boards. See more photos... |
