Cushing has a long and storied athletic history. From the first baseball game in 1876 to the current season, Cushing's student athletes have been leaving it all on the field. Our Penguins are perennial contenders and regular champions in the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) League and athletics are an integral part of who we are as a community—whether you play or if you choose to cheer our teams on from the sidelines. Our teams have won 24 NEPSAC championships in the last 17 years in 6 different sports.

Our coaches are full-time faculty members who are dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate about their sports and about helping their players learn and achieve excellence.

We field 36 teams in 14 sports, so it doesn't matter if you're a star on the field or if you've never played before. No matter what your level of knowledge about a sport, you're welcome to participate.

We have excellent facilities and they're about to get even better. In the spring of 2015, we will break ground on a new $12 million athletic facility with multiple courts, a fitness center, a group exercise space, bigger locker rooms, and more. The new facility will be constructed along Pleasant Street next to the Joseph R. Curry Academic Center and Adams Field. Learn more about this project.
