Leadership for the 21st Century
In May, a piano quartet representing the Cushing Chamber Music Players received a gold medal in a statewide competition sponsored by MICCA (Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association). The performers, HoYoung Lee ’10 (violin), Cherry Zhang, '09 (viola),Jason Huang ’10 (piano) and Kat Tarko, '09 ('cello) played the first movement of Antonin Dvorak's Piano Quartet in G Major.
The ensemble was ranked in twelve categories covering musicianship, quality of sound, and technical accuracy. The group came within one-half point of a perfect score. The ensemble was also invited to perform in MICCA's Solo and Ensemble Festival in Lexington, Mass., which highlights "the best of the best" in the state.
