Application Procedures
The application form should be completed and sent by mail, fax or submitted online with a $60 processing fee as early as possible. We begin our admission process in November. Applications are evaluated as soon as they are received. Students applying for College Prep courses or Critical Skills Across the Curriculum must include two teacher recommendations and a current transcript with the application.
As part of the enrollment process, a packet of information is sent regarding course selection, transportation, suggested clothing and other matters. Within four weeks of acceptance, a nonrefundable enrollment deposit of $500 is due. To ensure the student’s admission, the remainder of the tuition, $5,325, is due on or before May 15. If a student leaves before the end of the session for any reason, the tuition is nonrefundable.
All payments must be in U.S. dollars and should be made payable to “Cushing Academy Summer Session.” Payments can be made by personal check, by credit card (American Express, VISA or MasterCard), or by wire transfer. A wire transfer should be made in the name of the student to Banknorth, Fitchburg, MA, Routing #211370545, Account #9003901.
Issuance of Form I-20 A-B for a Student Visa
Cushing is approved by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service to issue an “I-20 Form” technically called a “Certificate of Eligibility for Non-immigrant (F-I) Student Status.” If you are not a citizen of the United States you will be issued an I-20 Form for the Summer Session as soon as we have received your enrollment deposit. Use the form to obtain your F-I Student Visa from the U.S. Consulate. We recommend that you make an appointment with the Consulate as soon as possible after receiving your I-20 form.
