The Stanley Cup Comes to Cushing

It was an exciting day at Iorio Arena on Aug. 10 – the highly anticipated visit by Conor Sheary ’10 of the Pittsburgh Penguins with the Stanley Cup. Approximately 300 fans patiently waited in line to view the Cup and pose for photos with Conor on the ice. The event was made even more special with a display of the Isobel Cup, the championship trophy of the National Women’s Hockey League, won this year by the Boston Pride. Cushing alumni Hayley Moore ’04 (Boston Pride General Manager) and Lauren Slebodnick ’10 (goaltender) also greeted guests alongside their well-earned trophy. Many thanks to all who made this day of Penguin Pride possible – it’s one we won’t soon forget!
