Senior Breakfast

Not only do our seniors graduate tomorrow, they also become Cushing alumni. Our annual Senior Breakfast is part of that important transition into Penguin Nation, our vast alumni network. Director of Alumni and Parent Programs Brett Torrey ’85 urged our seniors to stay connected to one another and involved with the academy. As we often say at Cushing, “Once a Penguin, Always a Penguin!”

We were honored to have Cal Bingham '07 speak to our graduating class during the event. Cal, now a successful commercial and portrait photographer, spoke fondly of his years at Cushing with two of his former art teachers, Bob Johnson and Joan Hathaway, in attendance. Cal loved the tight-knit and international community, took every art class he could, and even went on to work for Cushing Summer Session after his graduation. Echoing the words of Theodore Roosevelt, Cal advised our seniors that, “comparison is the thief of joy. At the end of the day, what matters most is that you’re happy with yourself.”
