VBIH vs. Brewster Academy: CA 2; Brewster 6

Brewster Academy – 6
Cushing Academy – 2
The Cushing Varsity Boys’ Hockey team took on the Cardinal of Brewster Academy in the third of four games on the day for the Cushing Hockey Program as they celebrated the 10th Annual Pink the Rink. All proceeds from the event are donated to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
A slow start saw Cushing fall behind 4-1 in the first period and it was the story of the game. A shorthanded goal by Connor Wood was one of the highlights of the Penguins’ night. Assists on the Wood goal went to Shane Zarcone and Brad Zona. Although Cushing dominated play for the remainder of the game, they were unable to mount a significant enough comeback to overcome the 6-1 lead Brewster was holding. Nick Cafarelli cut the lead by one more goal with a score early in the third period, but it was as close as Cushing would get. The team was on the unfortunate end of a 6-2 loss.
Next up for the Penguins is a trip to the Salisbury School in Connecticut on Wednesday, Jan. 9th for a 3:30pm game in the Knights home rink.
Season Record: 7-4-2
