VBB vs. Tilton School: CA 66; Tilton 49

Cushing Academy – 66
Tilton School – 48
The Cushing Varsity Boys’ Basketball team opened their 2018-2019 home slate when they hosted Tilton School in the Watkins Field House on Saturday afternoon.
Tilton came into the gym with an experienced front court and an extremely talented backcourt of skilled shooters and play makers. The Penguins did not want to allow the Rams to show any of their experience or talents and immediately pounced on the opposition to open-up a 35-17 by the half. It was their stifling defense and solid offensive execution helping the Penguins to their successful first half of play on the court and the scoreboard. The second half of the game was fought at a more even pace as the Tilton players found their footing and their grooves. Despite the Rams playing up a notch in the second half, the Penguins never relinquished the large lead built in the first half and came out of the game on top with a 66-48 final score.
Scoring for the Penguins –
Malachi Ndur – 16
Bensley Joseph – 13

Sean Okpoebo – 5
