VBIH vs. Salisbury School: CA 2; Salisbury 5

Salisbury School – 5
Cushing Academy – 2

The Cushing Varsity Boys’ Hockey team took to the road on Wednesday afternoon as they traveled to Salisbury School against one of the top teams in New England prep hockey. Despite outshooting their opponents 31-25 and controlling the play for stretches at a time, the Penguins were only able to put two past the Salisbury goalie. Jacob Banks netted both Penguin goals, which resulted from his hustle and grit on the penalty kill. Each goal was a short-handed breakaway buried behind the Salisbury goalie. When the third period ended, the Penguins were on the wrong side of a 5-2 score, but look to take tomorrow to shore up a few loose ends and recover for a quick turnaround.
Next game will keep the Penguins on the road on a quick turnaround as they look to give a similar effort with better results this Friday, Jan. 11th. The team will head out to Deerfield Academy for a 6:00pm tilt against the Big Green.
Season Record: 7-5-2
