VBB vs. Bradford Christian Academy: CA 77; BCA 66

Cushing Academy – 77
Bradford Christian Academy – 66

The Cushing Varsity Boys’ Basketball team hosted Bradford Christian Academy in the Watkins Field House for a Friday night affair after returning from Deerfield where they earned a strong win over another NEPSAC opponent. BCA is a dynamic team with outstanding talent and tons of potential on the offensive end. The BCA team features shooters who stretch the floor and make it difficult for the defense to contest deep ranged jumpers and it was shown at times when they were knocking down threes over the outstretched hands of the Cushing defenders. Cushing had a clear size advantage and they took advantage of this early and often down low in the paint. At the end of the first half the game it was 51-18 in favor of your Cushing Academy Penguins. There was no doubt about this one from that point onwards, but it didn’t mean BCA gave up. As the Penguins were rotating players through and spreading out the play, BCA sparked a run in the second half which closed the gap immensely and resulted in a final score of 77-66 in favor of the Penguins. The BCA team was led by Precious Okoh who hit four threes in the second half and had 26 points overall. The scoring for the Penguins was more spread out as just about every player scored.

Highlights of the game:
- Ethan Menzies dominant presence in the paint
- 4 first half threes from Sean Conway
- Spread scoring for the Penguins
- Outstanding defensive effort in the first half by Cushing

Scoring for Cushing:
Ethan Menzies – 17 points
