VBB vs. Cheshire Academy: CA 75; CA 54

Cushing Academy – 75
Cheshire Academy - 54

In a match-up of CA’s, sometimes referred to as CA-north and CA-south, the Penguins of Cushing Academy faced off against The Cats of Cheshire Academy on a chilly Saturday afternoon. Cushing welcomed Cheshire into the friendly confines of the Watkins Field House for what would be the first of two games for each team over the weekend.

From the opening tip the Penguins demonstrated their intensity and aggressive style of play to jump out to a 46-21 lead at the halfway mark. The second half was Cheshire fighting to play even with the Penguins, but the lead was too much for The Cats to overcome.

Cushing would pull out a 75-54 win on the day and have a quick turnaround as they play again tomorrow in the NEPSAC AA Classic here at Cushing. The Penguins will be the 12:45pm game in the Watkins Field House on a day Cushing will host six games between the Watkins Field House and Heslin Gymnasium. Cushing’s opponent will be Bradford Christian Academy, a second match-up in the last 10 days against each other.
