Cushing Academy – 93
Lawrence Academy – 59
The Cushing Varsity Boys’ Basketball team made the short trek over to Lawrence Academy on Saturday afternoon to take on a young, competitive, and talented Spartans’ team.
Early in the game Cushing used a 13-0 run to get the engines revved up and the team headed in the right direction. The starting-5 led the charge and fueled the run with stellar defense and strong execution on the offensive end. The afternoon was Cushing’s as they did not let up on either end of the court. The Penguins ended the half by doubling up, plus one, their opponent’s score and took a 50-24 lead into halftime.
