Representing Cushing at AISNE Students of Color Conference

Over the weekend, 14 Cushing students represented Cushing at the AISNE High School Students of Color Conference held at St. Mark’s School. Now in its 26th year, the conference aims to raise self-awareness, build community, provide support, and cultivate leadership among students of color in independent schools.
The Hope U Give: Love as a Revolutionary Act was this year’s theme, and our students engaged fully in all that was offered. From the keynote speakers, to workshops, affinity group sessions, and the dance, the group took it all in and gave as much back.
“This conference is an open learning environment for students of color who want to learn to better themselves and as well as their communities,” said Allison Green ’19, who has attended the event all four years. “Hearing directly from other students about what they’re doing at their schools is the coolest thing. It’s a great opportunity to network and continue the conversations.”
