VBB vs. St. Andrew's School: CA-84; SAS-69

Cushing Academy - 84
St. Andrew’s School - 69

In their second game of the St. Andrews’ Holiday Classic, the Cushing Varsity Boys’ Basketball team took on host St. Andrew’s School in their final game before the winter break.

Cushing was coming off a win over Proctor Academy the previous night and were motivated to finish the Holiday Classic strong against the host school.  Early in the contest St. Andrews was on fire as they hit their first five threes to start the game opening-up a comfortable lead. During this time Cushing weathered the storm and cut down on the St. Andrew’s lead with some sharp shooting of their own.  Before the half, Cushing earned themselves a lead as a result of stingy defense and spread scoring from all around.

In the second half, the Penguins imposed their will on their AA rival and finished the game by forcing turnovers and scoring in transition.  Cushing improved to 7-2 to finish out 2019 with the win and look forward to keeping it going in 2020.

The team will return to campus the first week of January and have their first game of 2020 on the road against the Tilton School Rams on Saturday, January 11th at 2:30pm.

Season Record to Date: 7-2
