VBBIH vs. Kimball Union Academy: CA-0; KUA-4

Kimball Union Academy - 4
Cushing Academy - 0

Playing their second road game in 24-hours, the Cushing Varsity B Boys’ Hockey team headed to Kimball Union Academy to take on the Wildcats.

Although the Penguins fell behind 1-0 early to the Wildcats, they battled the entire game for the equalizer before KUA put the game out of reach late. With just six minutes left in the final frame, the Penguins took a penalty and the Wildcats capitalized on their power play to push the score 2-0.  The KUA power play goal opened the floodgates and they added a couple late tallies to seal a 4-0 victory on home ice. Playing another solid game between the pipes for Cushing was Ben Speyer ‘20, who had 29 saves in the game.

The Penguins will focus on improving their goal scoring over the next few practices as they prepare to host Phillips Exeter Academy in Iorio Arena on Wednesday, February 19th at 2:30pm.
