VBB vs. Cheshire Academy: CA Penguins-57; CA Cats-46

Cushing Academy - 57
Cheshire Academy - 46

Braving a bit of bad weather on Friday afternoon, the Cushing Varsity Boys’ Basketball team traveled south to Connecticut to take on the Cheshire Academy Cats.  The Penguins were in search of a road win to extend their win streak to 8 in a row.

Cheshire was primed and ready for Cushing at the tip-off with a strong crowd and a motivated team.  Early in the game the Penguins were finding it difficult to run their offense and to convert on layups.  The Cats used good shooting to earn a 10-point lead going into the halftime break.

Using the break to regroup, Cushing came out to start the second half with a spirited effort.  Within 6 minutes of the second half starting the Penguins tied the game up and took the lead for the remainder of the game.  The story of the game for Cushing was working hard to get the ball inside on the breakouts and in the half court. Cheshire couldn’t keep up with the athleticism and physicality of the Cushing team and this helped the Penguins to seal the road victory 57-46.
