On Monday evening, November 8, ten members of Mrs. Lee’s Literary Studies course traveled to Boston University to hear Dr. Elie Wiesel's lecture entitled, Ethos and Contemporary Issues: Memories and Reconciliation. Having just finished Dr. Wiesel's memoir, Night, the Cushing students found Dr. Wiesel's reflections on the importance of reconciliation and forgiveness in religion, politics, and personal matters extremely relevant! The Sherman Student Union was filled to capacity, and the audience gave Professor Wiesel a standing ovation. Afterwards, two students, Ariela Finkelstein, a junior from Mexico City, and Fernando Chiriboga, a junior from Quito, Ecuador, were grateful for the opportunity to speak briefly with Dr. Wiesel.
