Sponsored by Cushing’s “Open Doors” group, this year’s Diversity Month runs February 9 through March 9. In an effort to celebrate and understand one another in the Cushing community and beyond, members have planned a number of activities and outreach programs to embrace diversity.
Initiatives include making Valentines and delivering them to a local assisted living facility, celebrating Chinese New Year in Boston (complete with dinner and karaoke!), taking in the exhibit “Race: Are We So Different?” at the Museum of Science, making blankets for a women’s shelter, and topical discussions that range from women in leadership to understanding autism. Lori Schippers ’04 will also address members of the Cushing community in an all-school assembly on her experience in the Peace Corps. We look forward to these great events, which are open to all students.
