Honoring Teachers, Supporting Cushing

In an effort encourage student participation in the Cushing Academy Fund, the Student Development Advisory Board recently hosted a two-day “I Give to Cushing!” event. Approximately 135 students stepped up to the challenge, making gifts in honor of faculty members and staff who have had an impact on their Cushing experience.
Says sophomore Rene Ahn, “The program allows Cushing students to demonstrate their dedication to their community and teachers through something tangible, because sometimes it’s hard for students to show just how much they really care.” Students signed certificates with personal notes that were delivered to the faculty and staff, and each participant received an “I Give to Cushing!” pin. This was the first event of its kind open to the entire student body; the student-run SDAB looks forward to planning another event in the spring.
