Developing Vertical Gardens, Windmills of the Future

During a recent “Food for Thought” faculty lunch, students involved in CASE (Cushing Academy Space and Earth Center) presented several prototypes for vertical gardening, shared concepts on robotic technology, and discussed ideas for harnessing wind power from moving traffic.
The project-based learning group meets each afternoon to create simulations and applications to address global issues of the 21st century. They have plans to meet with consultants to begin developing some of their models in the near future. Students presenting: Tabor Nelson ’11, Ben Sharron ’12, Edward Russell ’11, and Griffin Davis ’13. The group is led by faculty advisors Gisele Zangari and Ellen Harrington.
