Welcoming Bhutanese Guests

Cushing welcomes Gaki and Yeshi, two Bhutanese high school students who are studying in Canada, for a weekend visit.
The girls (pictured here, center) joined in on Friday’s classes, including the Dreams of Bhutan class taught by Mr. Clarke, and will take in a performance of the winter musical, cheer on the Girls’ Varsity Hockey team in the semi-finals, and stay in the dorms for a full Cushing experience.

Four members of the Dreams of Bhutan class will be heading to Bhutan on March 10 on an educational expedition – living with Bhutanese families, attending Bhutanese schools, exploring Bhutanese culture, and meeting with representatives of the Bhutanese government, a newly established constitutional democracy under His Majesty, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck ’99, one of Cushing Academy’s most distinguished alumni.

Stay tuned for daily blog posts and photos during their travels!
