For alumnus Peter Reppas '86, work ethic is everything... and it all stems from his Cushing experience.
On October 22, Cushing welcomed alumnus Peter “Rep” Reppas ’86, a certified personal trainer, certified nutritionist, and sports enhancement specialist of Repertoire Fitness, Inc. , and Impact Athletics. “Rep” has worked in the sports fitness industry for over a decade training high school students who dream of an athletic college scholarship; training college athletes who aspire to play professionally; and training professional athletes who are striving to improve their game. He has also motivated and inspired numerous individuals in search of a healthier lifestyle.
During an all-school assembly, Rep shared his training philosophy and stories of his work with professional athletes. But what he focused on the most was how Cushing – and faculty members such as Rich Henry, Wayne Hancock, Bill Wenning and Wayne Sanborn -- prepared and motivated him for pushing himself beyond his own limits and achieving his goals. “You have a wonderful opportunity here at Cushing. Take advantage of the people around you – not just in the classroom but outside on the fields and in the dorms. Use Cushing to its fullest.”
At the conclusion of his address, Rep announced that he has challenged himself to running 50 miles on October 5, 2013 as a fundraiser for Bill and Marcy Wenning’s son, Cody, who has autism. Through donations of pledges per mile, he hopes to raise $100,000 in an effort to give back to the community of people that changed his life. “I learned at Cushing to go above and beyond and out of the norm… this run is going to be a life-changing experience.”
Following the assembly, Rep met with faculty friends and members of the Athletic Leadership Program. We will post additional information and details on the run as they become available. To contact Peter Reppas directly about this endeavor, please email him at email@example.com
