Since returning from Thanksgiving break, members of the Cushing community have been hard at work decorating the campus with festive lights and holiday décor. In addition to celebrating the season, this year’s efforts were also part of the yearlong Dorm Olympics competition.
On Sunday, a team of judges, along with fellow faculty, staff, students, and faculty children gathered at the Iorio Arena for the first Cushing Holiday Stroll. The group toured the campus, stopping at each dorm and house to take in the sights and enjoy refreshments and hospitality along the way.
Voting was determined by festivity, creativity, cooperation and participation, and the results were as follows:
Gold Medals: Houses and Ash House (20 points)
Silver Medal: Sawyer Hopkins (15 points)
Bronze Medal: Alumni Hall (10 points)
Honorable Mention for Best Holiday Treats: Cooke Hall (5 points)
Honorable Mention for Beautiful Lights: Lowe Hall (5 points)
Honorable Mention for Best Cooperation: Day Students (5 points)
Many thanks to Cara Clarke, our Olympics organizer, and to our judges, and many participants. We look forward to making this an annual tradition for years to come!
