Birthday Wishes to Dr. Curry, Former Headmaster

The Board of Trustees joins Jim and Jan Tracy, faculty and staff, students, and alumni and parents around in the world in sending warmest wishes to retired Headmaster Dr. Joseph R. Curry on his 80th birthday!

During his tenure as our ninth headmaster from 1972 - 2000, Dr. Curry oversaw every aspect of Cushing with his great care, intellect and sheer determination. With an outstanding faculty, he shaped the experience of every student, creating pioneering programs in which Cushing continues to lead, such as English as a Second Language and Academic Support, with abiding excellence outside the classroom, too, in athletics and the arts. The lasting legacy of Dr. Curry's leadership continues in the extraordinary diversity of our talented student body, in the superb facilities whose construction he championed for the students, and, most importantly, in the countless alumni and colleagues whose lives he touched.
