Opening Ceremonies for Dorm Olympics

On Sunday, September 14, Quimby Field was flooded with students, ready to compete in this year’s Dorm Olympics. The competition – which has become more popular and fierce since its launch in 2012 – runs for the academic year with fun games and contests that tally points to determine the overall gold/silver/bronze winners. That winner earns a spot on the championship banner hanging in Cowell Chapel.
Opening Ceremonies featured a torch hand-off from Maggie Boyd ’15 to Headmaster Torino, and the first of two contests: badminton and the creation of the team flag. The results were as follows:
Gold: Ash House
Silver: Day Students
Bronze: Houses/Sawyer-Hopkins
Team Flag:
Gold: Ash House
Silver: Sawyer-Hopkins
Bronze: Day Students
Stay tuned for more Cushing competitions over the year and to see who will take home the gold!
