Celebrating the Life & Legacy of Dr. Curry

A joyful and poignant celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Joseph Curry and a remembrance of classmates and teachers who are no longer with us was held on Saturday morning.  Warm, funny and moving memories of Cushing's 9th headmaster were shared by his daughter Dana Curry Lorway '78, Shiva Saboori '80, Wilda White '75, Doug Alexander '78, longtime faculty members Peggy Lee and Wayne Sanborn, trustee emeritus Andre Gelinas, and headmaster Chris Torino, with beautiful tributes in song offered by Anna Choi '82 and former faculty member Chonghyo Shin.  In remembrance, Alumni Council President David Farnham '77 and Council member Elliott Ventura '78 read the names of each member of the community who passed away in the last year.
From each story filled with respect, love and humor - illuminating Dr. Curry's kindness, visionary leadership, sheer hard work, singular dedication to students and faculty, and the life lessons learned well from a master teacher - to the recreation by Wayne Sanborn of Dr. Curry's unmistakable presence at his desk, a great man and headmaster was fondly remembered.  The video of the service can be found here, interwoven with photos and quotes from the slide show which followed the service.
