Reunion 2015: An Amazing Weekend!

Cushing Academy's sesquicentennial Reunion Weekend, held June 5-7, was a wonderful success! The Academy hosted nearly 400 guests, including 263 alumni for the weekend. The Class of 1965 was inducted into the school's Gold Key Society, which recognizes those alumni who graduated 50+ years ago. We honored the school's 9th Headmaster, Dr. Joseph Curry, as well as other alumni who passed during the year at a memorial service on Saturday morning. That was followed up by a tasty BBQ lunch cooked by our own Berkley Hoagland '86.
The Class of 1985 won the award for having the most class members attend, with nearly 40 of them showing up to celebrate. The Class of 1975 had a wonderful showing as well. But there were alumni from all ages--from those who graduated in 1945 to those who graduated in 2013. On Saturday evening, Carolyn Marr '58 was awarded the Thomas Parkman Cushing Alumni Service Award for her tireless help in organizing the Academy's archives and we honored three of our retiring faculty--Wayne Hancock, Paul Dowling, and Norm Carey. And all of that was before dancing the night away to our wonderful band.
