6th Annual Golf Tournament Brings Cushing Supporters Together on Cape Cod
On Monday, June 25, 2018, nearly 100 golfers came to The Ridge Club in Sandwich, Mass., to have some fun on the links while supporting the Cushing Academy Annual Fund and Cushing’s hockey programs. The participants included Buffalo Sabre Conor Sheary ’10, Coach Mike Sullivan, of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panther Keith Yandle ’05, and 2018 Olympian Broc Little ’07. We were also joined by Cushing notables like Rich Henry, Peggy Lee and new Head of School Dr. Randy Bertin. This year’s tournament raised nearly $100,000, bringing the total over six years to almost $280,000. The funds raised by the tournament have supported the construction of the Watkins Field House, the boys’ and girls’ hockey programs, and the Cushing Academy Annual Fund.
The success of the tournament has been a team effort. George Sullivan (P ’11), has been the tournament’s title sponsor for several years. He’s been joined by Mark Warsofsky (P ’07 and ’09) and M&M Transport, Windover Construction, Tony Mallozzi ’01 and Anthony Joseph Real Estate, and TD Bank. This year, Interstate Electrical, Golden Cannoli, CSL Consulting, Mike Nadler ‘06, Jordan Sullivan ’11 and Conor Sheary ’10, Stacy Silverman ’04, and Fitchburg State University and its President Richard S. Lapidus joined in sponsoring the tournament.
In addition, several alumni, friends, and parents sponsored holes, including Jim Kraskouskas ’65 and Anthony’s Liquor Mart, Ashburnham Wine and Spirits, Mahoney’s Garden Center, Mylec Hockey, Brian Teixeira ’99 and Wilson Bus. We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity of our donors and their ongoing support of the Academy and its students.
