Cushing has been the beneficiary of generous gifts since its founding in 1865. Thomas Parkman Cushing, the school's namesake, provided the initial funds to found the school and he was joined by many others in the early years who helped fill the library and build and maintain the school's buildings.
There are many ways to support the school. For example:
- You could support the Cushing Academy Annual Fund. The school's annual fund provides operating expenses—for everything from salaries to classroom supplies, financial aid to hands-on learning experiences. Learn more.
- Your gift could expand our endowment. Cushing's endowment is a kind of savings account for the school. Donors can support the endowment with any size gift. Learn more.
- You can help us with capital projects. As you might imagine there are practically endless building projects for a campus like Cushing's. We need to maintain the structures that already exists—including our many antique buildings—as well as build new structures to meet the needs of our diverse campus community. Learn more.
- You can make a gift right now or you can remember Cushing in your will. Learn more about the ways you can support the Academy.
No matter how you give or what part of the school you choose to support, your gift will make a real difference to the students, faculty, and staff at Cushing Academy. Together, we can make sure that Cushing will be known for its excellence in education for the next 150 years. Since the very earliest days of Cushing’s history, gifts have made it possible for Academy students to receive an exemplary education. Thomas Parkman Cushing laid a foundation for the school with his original bequest to launch the school, and hundreds of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends have supported his vision in the years since by making gifts of their own.
We are deeply grateful for your support and for everything you do to advance Cushing Academy.
