Main Building Ivy Cast in Silver

This year in Advanced Silversmithing, Bob Johnson's students plucked ivy leaves growing on the facade of the Main Building and transformed them into works of art. This project taught the students how to work with organic materials to create jewelry and the technique of lost wax casting. The results are not only beautiful, they will serve as a special memento of time spent at Cushing for years to come.

We're excited to say that you can watch Mr. Johnson, a master silversmith, teach this lesson to Kato Fujimura '18, Lexie Lin '19, and Joseph Merrill '18 on Cushing's Youtube account!

Visit this album for larger images of the finished jewelry.
