VBIH vs. Loomis Chaffee School: CA 7; Loomis 1

Cushing Academy – 7
Loomis Chaffee School - 1

After an outstanding road performance and 5-1 victory at Deerfield Academy on Friday night, the Cushing Varsity Boys’ Hockey Penguins looked to continue their strong play with a rare Sunday afternoon home game against Loomis Chaffee School.  The Pelicans were coming off a victory of their own as they defeated Hotchkiss School 5-3 on Saturday night.

From the opening face-off, Cushing dominated in all facets of the game enroute to a 7-1 thrashing of the Pelicans.  Seven different Cushing players found the back of the net, while goalie Joe Sharib and the Penguins defense, held their opponents to just 20 shots.  Penguin goal scorers included Jake Hewitt, Jacob Banks, Max Bogdanovich, Nick Cafarelli, Lukas Gustafsson, Max Dorrington, and Connor Wood.

Next up for the Penguins is a game against Thayer Academy at the Canton Sportsplex in Canton, MA on Wednesday January 16th at 4:15pm.  This game is a rematch of the epic Watkins Tournament Championship game from last month where the Penguins defeated the Tigers 2-1 to win the title.
