Penguins Set Habitat for Humanity Goal

In October 2012, Hurricane Sandy demolished homes in more than 15 states. The state of New Jersey was particularly hard hit. Since the hurricane, the non-profit organization Habitat for Humanity has been working to rebuild and renovate houses to help those impacted by the storm. This spring, a group of nine Cushing Students and two chaperones hope to join in that effort.

If all goes according to plan, they will leave Ashburnham on March 10. They'll drive to New Jersey and spend several nights staying in a church and driving back and forth to the work site each day. They will work from 9am to 3:30pm each day and will either build a home or rehabilitate a home damaged by the storm.

In order to go, the Cushing group will need to pay for transportation, food, lodging, and materials. To learn how you can help, please click here.
