Athletes of the Week: Bow Jareonvongrayab and Russell Olive

Congrats to Bow Jareonvongrayab ’15 and Russell Olive ’15 on being named Athletes of the Week for April 20-26. Bow, from Bangkok, Thailand, had a strong week on the Varsity Girls’ Tennis team.  She won both her singles and doubles matches vs. Tabor Academy and followed up with a strong win in doubles vs. Pomfret.  For both of these matches, Bow played in the number 1 spot, which means she played against the opponents’ best players.

Russell, a senior from Chelmsford, Mass., has led the Penguin offense going 4 for 8 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBIs.  With Russ patrolling center field, he has flashed both his speed and leather while making several outstanding plays. Russ picked up a victory on the mound when he went the distance for a 10-3 win over the Franklin Pierce JV team, surrendering 5 hits, 2 walks, 4 Ks, and 3 unearned runs.  Russ will move on to UMass Lowell to fulfill his dream of playing DI baseball on a scholarship.
