For the past two years, during spring break, Cushing students have built houses on service-learning trips. The first year, they went to New Jersey to help a family affected by Super Storm Sandy. Last year, they headed to Pendleton County, West Virginia. In spring 2017 (March 9 - 16), they'll return to West Virginia.
The trip will be under the auspices of the Fuller Center for Housing in the Potomac Highlands. The building project hasn't yet been decided on, but it will be in the vicinity of the Potomac Highlands and will involve either new construction or renovations.
The trip is full, but the kids who are going are working on fundraising to pay for the approx. $400 per student it will cost. If you'd like to help them reach their fundraising goal, there are two ways to make donations.
You can visit our secure online giving form at www.cushing.org/give. Next to the box at the bottom of the form that says, "Use this space to to restrict your gift to a specific purpose. . ." type in "Spring Break service learning trip." Doing so will ensure that the correct group recieves your donation.
You can send a personal check to Cushing Academy Development Office, 39 School Street, Ashburnham, MA 01430. Please be sure to write "Spring Break service learning trip" in the memo line of your check.
Won't you help these caring and dedicated young people reach their fundraising goal so that they can make a real difference?
Your gift matters.
