Through community engagement and hands-on experience, students in the Summer Session Leadership Program will gain the confidence and skills necessary to inspire and motivate their peers in all aspects of school life.
In this process, participants will become familiar with the “tools” of effective leadership, including innovation, modeling, entrepreneurship, problem solving, and purposeful change.
These student leaders play a vital role in the classroom, on the playing fields,
in the dorms, and on school trips.
In addition, students in the Leadership Program can pursue a cause or issue of interest and work with others to develop a plan to raise awareness in the community. Past projects include a charity drive for the local food bank, a campus-wide recycling program, and a campaign to recognize and celebrate diversity on our campus.
Upon successful completion of the Leadership program, students are awarded a signed, formal certificate to recognize their efforts during Summer Session.
While the Dean of Students will provide program and sign-up information in Assembly, students interested in the Summer Session Leadership program are encouraged to contact the Student Life Office during the first week of school.
