Cushing seeks teacher candidates interested in the full life of our boarding school beyond the classroom. Teachers at Cushing typically work with 50 or fewer students divided among four classes. Faculty members generally coach two seasons each year and live in a dormitory where they supervise and counsel students.

Athletic Coaching Positions
Cushing Academy seeks to hire the following coaching positions:
- Head Varsity Girls' Tennis
- Varsity Baseball - Pitching Coach
- Assistant Varsity Track and Field - Throws Coach
Responsibilities include overseeing (Head Coach) or assisting in all aspects of Cushing, which is a member of the competitive New England Prep School Athletic Conference. Working with the athletic director and others, the Head Coach will engage potential student-athletes and their families in the admissions process, plan and execute regular team practices, and coach and assist in travel for all regular-season games and post-season play.
Successful candidates will have an exceptional ability to develop and maintain positive and healthy relationships with a diverse range of adolescents. Candidates should demonstrate an ongoing commitment to creating and supporting an inclusive environment, and a willingness to examine their own coaching practices through an anti-oppression and anti-racist framework.
Qualified candidates will have playing and coaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level. Preference is given to a candidate who can serve as a full-time faculty member by filling a current teaching or administrative opening at the Academy. (Current teaching openings exist in Math, Science, and Academic Support.) Part-time Coaches will be considered.
